چکیده

The conversion of urea into ammonium carbonate with the ureaser of the soy bean has proven of value not only in urea determinations but in cases where urea interferes with some chemical manipulation since its removal can be readily accomplished by this enzyme.2 Data relative to the action and behavior of urease under various conditions should prove of value in many connections.3 In our original paper on the use of urease in urea estimations, it was stated in discussing the time necessary for the complete decomposition of the urea in urine, that “The time required for the complete hydrolysis of the urea depends upon the quantity of urine used, the concentration of the urea, the amount of the enzyme present, and the temperature of the action. The velocity of the reaction is approximately twice as rapid at 35’ as at 25’ and directly proportional to the enzyme concentration within certain limits.” The experimental data for this statement are presented in part in the present communication. In order to determine the best conditions for the hydrolysis of urea by urease, the effect of various factors such as dilution, reaction of the medium, and enzyme concentration have been investigated.

Effects of different levels of phospholipids on fatty acid composition, body lipid content and lipase activity in stellate fish (Acipenser stellatus) stellatus)

Abstract This study was conducted to investigate the effect of different levels of phospholipids on fatty acid profile, lipid content of body and lipase activity in stellate fish (Acipenser stellatus) fed different levels of lecithin as phospholipid source. The fish with average weight of 11.25 ± 0.06 g were fed seven different diets having identical levels of protein and lipid content but dif...

The Effect of Autoclaving Lysine in the Presence of Carbohydrate on Its Utilization by the Chick* By

The value of heat treatment in improving the nutritive value of soy bean oil meal has long been known. More recently, however, the deleterious effect of autoclaving too long or at too high a temperature has been demonstrated (l-4). Evans and McGinnis (3) attributed this decrease in nutritive value caused by overheating to the lowered availability of methionine. Riesen et al. (5) in work with ra...

Effect of commercial phytase (SMIZYME PHYTASE) in diets containing different levels of soybean meal on growth and carcass compositions of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum, 1792)

This study aimed to investigate the effect of commercial phytase (SMIZYME PHYTASE) between diets containing 20 and 40 percent soybean meal on growth and body composition of rainbow trout. For this experiment, 300 Rainbow trout with an average initial weight of 6.5 ± 0.43 g were randomly distributed in 18 aquariums (15 fish per tank). Three replicates per treatment were considered. The fish were...

Rumen Degradability and Model Prediction of Nutrient Supply to Ruminants from Different Processed Soybean Meals

DVE2010 system was used for model prediction of nutrient supply to ruminants from soy bean meal (SBM), extruded soy bean meal (SBE) and full-fat soybean meal (FSBM). Extruded soy bean meal had the highest truly absorbed rumen undegraded protein in the small intestine (ARUP) followed by SBM and FSBM. There was no significant difference between SBE and FSBM in the case of truly absorbed rumen syn...
